چکیده

Fast-growing and highly adaptable avian birds such as quail (Coturnix coturnix) possess great potential to meet the growing demand for animal protein by rapidly increasing human population, would contribute immensely global food production nutritional security. However, overreliance on conventional sources fish soybean meals during formulation of diets is economically environmentally unsustainable. Alternatively, insect-based Gonimbrasia belina, commonly known mopane worm (MW), can be used increase due their high biological value low feed-food competition. Indeed, MW nutritious, with an average content 55% a well-balanced amino acid profile. Thus, its incorporation in could provide alleviate deficiencies allow sustainable intensification. there are limited studies effect partial or complete replacement meal (MWM) diets. This paper reviews profile use source, well future prospects poultry Finally, we postulate that mass this source sustainability inventive strategy develop profitable business.

Potential of poultry by-product meal as a main protein source in diets formulated for juvenile sobaity (Sparidentex hasta)

A 60-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the potential of using poultry by-product meal (PBM) as a partial replacement for fish meal (FM) in the diets for juvenile sobaity. Six iso-nitrogenous and iso-lipidic diets were formulated to contain graded levels of PBM, at 0 (as control diet), 15, 25, 35, 45, and 55% of FM replacement. Each diet was fed to groups of 20 juvenile sobaity in trip...

The Use of Sweet Almond Meal as a Protein Source in Japanese Quails Diets

In the first experiment, the chemical composition, apparent metabolizable energy (AME), AME corrected for nitrogen (AMEn), true metabolizable energy (TME), TME corrected for nitrogen (TMEn) values of the sweet almond meal were determined in adult Leghorn cockerels. The second experiment was performed to evaluate the effects of different levels of sweet almond meal at 0, 100, 200 and 300 g/kg on...

Canola Meal as a Protein Source for Lactating Dairy Cows

Canola is an offspring of rapeseed (Brassica napus and Brassica campestris/rapa), which was bred through standard plant breeding techniques to have low levels of erucic acid and glucosinolates. Canola seed is rich in oil, and after oil extraction, the remaining “canola meal” (CM), is a rich protein source used as feedstock to different animal species, mainly dairy cows in North America and in E...

Hydrolyzed feather meal as a protein source for growing calves.

Growth, digestion and in situ studies were conducted to determine the protein value of hydrolyzed feather meal (Fth) for growing ruminants. Dacron bags containing blood meal (BM), Fth, corn gluten meal (CGM) and soybean meal (SBM) were suspended in the rumen of two steers for 12 h to estimate escape protein. The escape protein value for Fth, 69.1%, was less than that for BM (82.8%) and CGM (80....
